From Mike: From the wake in Caldwell we left for SXSW. The Refugees appropriately saw us out of NJ and we discussed Ryan’s recently and unfortunately groomed beard and how, by the end of the week, we’ll be attempting to put more than 2222 toothpicks in his beard to break the recent record seen set on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlo-3KPqZwU. Nothing is impossible.
Milo and Ryan are on first shift driving through the night. Jared and I will drive the day tomorrow.
From Jared: A semi-mental breakdown was not my ideal way of starting the trip. I had been feeling reoccuring symptoms of my stomach, etc., health problems for the last few days, and had gotten progressively worse through the day yesterday. By the time I had arrived in Hoboken to pack up the van I was pretty worried, especially since we were about to embark on a 30+ hour drive, but after a few phone calls with my dad, I was able to pull it together and sure enough, symptoms seemed to diminish, or at least were able to be ignored…it’s now 8:32 am, got some on and off Z’s on the back bench while milo and ryan sat captian and skipper for the night. Now it’s Mike and my turn to truck it through the great state of Tennessee and beyond…
