After a long and difficult adjudication process, our song ‘Cantaloupe’ was selected as a Grand Prize Winner in the Rock category of the 2009 Session-II John Lennon Songwriting Contest! Along with all 2009 Session-II Grand Prize Winners, our song will compete in a head-to-head online voting battle to become the Lennon Award Winner for our category. The 12 Lennon Award Winners will then compete for the Maxell Song of the Year Award. Stay tuned for details on how to vote! From Mike: Got my wisdom teeth out last week and had two “dry sockets,”  so they are called. I went back for a check-up today and they treated them with an old fashion remedy know as oil of clove. It works great.

Our friends XYLOS are on the cusp of releasing their new record, which is still untitled. They’ve been working with producer Britt Meyers and it’s truly turning out wonderful. As for Carlon, I plan on posting some HD footage from the holiday show that we did at Maxwells soon, as well as some interviews. So stay tuned. I’ll be sure to let you know.

From Mike: Hey all. We realize it has been a while since you’ve heard from us in this way but we’ve been busy moving into our new rehearsal space and working on new songs. The Converse videos that we completed this summer are almost done being chopped up and we are expecting a release any week now. I promise they will be well worth the wait. Oh, and from here on out, all of our videos will be in HD so no more jolty blur, etc. Have a gander at what we’re working on for the next album…

From Mike: Lots of new toys in the practice space as of late. I’m gonna go ahead and say things are about to get a little weird, that is if they haven’t already. But much like they say, things have to get weird before they get better. New material is slowly starting to take over and the summer ending has us looking forward to autumn and new things. The videos we’ve been working on all summer for Converse are nearly finished and we will be featured in the October/November issue of Relix magazine. Our good friend, Chris Pfeil’s, will have a photo he took of us as part of the center spread. Check out his other stuff at chrispfeil.com/home.html.
